Good day! Madam/ Sir,
My name is Ferlyn , 36 years old from Butuan City, Philippines. My highest educational attainment is 2nd year college level and took up Bachelor of Science in Elementary education. I am currently working as a food handler in a school canteen and preparing short orders like party trays for an extra income.
For my work experience, I have worked in Doha, Qatar for 5 years as a domestic helper/nanny in a family of five with 3 children. which are 11, 6 and a newborn. My duties for them is mainly childcare, cleaning and ironing. I help the kids getting ready for school and taking care of the newborn after they left. I also cooked lunch for them and prepare healthy snacks after school and light dinner. Every Friday, I bring them to playhouse. In the night time, I bathe them and put them to bed and read bedtime stories. Working in a family that has children in a different age bracket is tiring but I learned to be more patient and creative to divert their attention to activities that will help nurture them while learning.
I also have experience working in Hongkong as a domestic helper in a family of 3 with a 6 month old baby. My duties are babycare, housekeeping, laundry, cooking carwash and going to the wet market 3x a week. During the day I focus on cleaning all the baby stuff before he wakes up. Prepare his healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner meal plan. In the lunch time, I only cooked simple food for madam. For dinner, I made soup and 3 dishes or sometimes more if there are visitors coming in. At night, I assist madam in baby care and clean the kitchen area. While working for them, I learned different Chinese dishes and soups. Making breads, steamed buns, dumplings and cake.
I have also worked with another family of four with 2 children ages 11 and 18. My duties for them is housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, carwash, cooking and gardening. In the morning, I usually make milktea and indian breads like roti and paratha for their breakfast and for the children and sir's lunchbox. I cooked food for the children according to their requests. Because they are vegetarian, madam usually cooks dinner. I help her prepare all the ingredients and the things she needs for cooking and I only make the roti for them.
Working with employers with different nationality is a blessing to me as I have learned a lot from them. From their tradition,culture, food and various ways of doing things. I have always been grateful to have been working with them.
For my personality, i grew up as a happy person. I am caring, very patient, honest and hardworking. I am passionate about my work in furthering my time in domestic help/nanny field so that i can continue help families in need of my service and broadening my experiences.
